Demijohn Collection

HAND CRAFTED LAMPS, BOWLS AND SIDE TABLES, 2014. PHOTOS BY DRAW

A recent Italian law has imposed all winemakers to dispose of old large jars. Since then, large glass bottles have appeared in waste collection centres or have been stored in farmers’ warehouses and cellars. This inspired the Demijohn collection, which includes beautiful large demijohns selected and reused to create a range of tables, lamps and bowls. Each piece is unique, professionally cleaned and finished with hand-turned cork parts and precious mechanical components. Sometimes, funny little bubbles are visible through the clear glass surface. They are produced on demand for collectors, wine shops, restaurants and lounges, lending them a touch of flair.
