RONDINE DINING CHAIR, 2018. PHOTOS BY MARIO CIAMPI & DRAW
Rondine dining chair matches and completes Rondine range, which began with the lounge chair in 2017. In the collection traces of a genuine passion for the archetypes of European design of the 50s and 60s are revealed by the generous curves of the seat and the backrest, while soft transitions along the wooden structure recall the gentle and organic language of Carlo Mollino. However, the general construction, proportions, technique and upholstered materials and high comfort make it a truly contemporary chair.
Like the tail of a swallow (‘Rondine’ in Italian), the rear structure of the backrest opens gently in two legs, giving stability and at the same time creating a unique and iconic shape. Seen from behind, two bright eyes stand out against the dark wooden structure, hiding the heads of the screws that secure the back.
