Convivium is an installation inspired by the transition which stone undergoes: from its natural state it through to its intended use. A gradient moving across the table as the protagonist of the composition from left to right, takes observers back in time and space to reflect on the history and life of the material: quarried, handled and processed in progressive stages until it achieves its completeness in the presence of the end user.

The set-up – strictly in natural stone accurately milled from the solid for each piece, surmounted and illuminated by a composition of lamps also in stone – contrasts with a semi-finished block suspended from a winch, while the table top transformed and progressively integrates into a solid block set against the scene.

Convivium is also a warning intimately linked with the value of the resource and the deep bond between man – through life and consumption choices – and nature, the earth from which everything we do originates and to which everything returns.
