CECCOTTI COLLEZIONI

HANDCRAFTED RUGS, 2018. PHOTOS BY MARIO CIAMPI

Ceccotti Collezioni has always been a careful preserver of stories. Stories of people, centuries old traditions, manual skills, and quality crafts.
There’s a place, in one of the remotest and most impassable regions in the world, that silk used to pass through, in its journey from the East to the West: Nepal. There, rug making is an art as old as the populations who live there and it has achieved unequalled excellence.

Superior materials, colours, a masterly handknotting technique passed down the generations and, last but not least, the effect of the unique Nature of these places – the sun, the air, the altitude – help create elegant, unique pieces.

Chevron is not just a name, it is a pattern that has always featured in nature, art, fashion or architecture. Our personal take on the pattern is a reworking of a classic that expands it into space and time. The thin lines that regularly dot the even grounds open up and fold onto themselves, breaking the level rhythm and adding a fresh, modern twist to the set.
